New York, New York, so good they named it twice, is one of the major cities in the world and also one of the top tourist destinations in America. Also known affectionately as the Big Apple, the lively and bustling metropolis of New York city is full of interesting sights and major landmarks.
Many of New York's major landmarks and tourist attractions are known and loved throughout the world. The city of Philadelphia, often known as 'Philly', features many sleek shopping districts, five-star restaurants and America's largest colonial district. Second only to San Francisco for its popularity with tourists, an American travel information magazine recently named Boston as the seventh most popular city in the world. One reason for this deserved popularity is the tangible sense of history to be found in Boston, unlike most other American cities. In many ways Boston could be described as the birthplace of the United States.
There are world-class collections in both the city's museums and art galleries, and visitors to Boston will find everything from the finest in international dining to shopping that extends from great bargains to the ultimate in chic and in the vicinity are world class universities such as Harvard and MIT.
Boston is the gateway to New England, which is a region of unique charm and exceptional beauty. A visit to New England in the fall is an incomparable experience, when Mother Nature reveals her full range of autumn colors, as the canopies of the trees become fiery red, glistening gold and bright orange. Boston is a city which is very walkable, and most of its premier attractions are within an area of just five miles.
