New York, New York, so good they named it twice, is one of the major cities in the world and also one of the top tourist destinations in America. Also known affectionately as the Big Apple, the lively and bustling metropolis of New York city is full of interesting sights and major landmarks.

Many of New York's major landmarks and tourist attractions are known and loved throughout the world. Some of the top tourist attractions in New York include the Empire State Building - one of the most famous of all New York landmarks and the definitive skyscraper, the Chrysler Building - opened in 1930, when it was declared the world's tallest building until the completion of the Empire State Building, Central Park - located in the Manhattan district of New York and covering an enormous area of almost 850 acres, Times Square - situated in the heart of New York's Theater District and filled with colorful neon signs, Brooklyn Bridge - New York's famous bridge that is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful bridges in the world, and of course the impressive and enormous Statue of Liberty - symbolizing the American dream of freedom. Visited each year by over four million tourists, Quebec City is predominantly French-speaking, although English is generally understood. Quebec City offers some of the country's best museums and is also home to a notable port, which is situated at the confluence of the St. Lawrence and St. Charles rivers.

Notable landmarks and monuments in Quebec City include the Fortifications of Quebec - historical walls which have long been an important part of Quebec City, dating back to the early 17th century and Parliament Buildings - a striking group of buildings in the St. Jean Baptiste area of Quebec City, an important political center.

Second only to San Francisco for its popularity with tourists, an American travel information magazine recently named Boston as the seventh most popular city in the world. One reason for this deserved popularity is the tangible sense of history to be found in Boston, unlike most other American cities. In many ways Boston could be described as the birthplace of the United States.
